Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

NOTE: The embassy/consulate is now jurisdictional (based on the state of residency).  The instruction below is applicable only for the residents from the following states: Washington DC, MARYLAND, WEST VIRGINIA, VIRGINIA, NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, PENNSYLVANIA, GEORGIA, FLORIDA, ALABAMA, MISSISSIPPI, AND TENNESSEE.

TOURIST VISA

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable
  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. The application form must have original signature.
  • National ID of the sponsor in Pakistan
  • Letter of Invitation from sponsor in Pakistan
  • Four (4) Passport Type Photographs with clear or white background
  • Personal signed letter from the applicant addressed to the consulate or embassy stating the purpose of travel, and how they know the Pakistani inviter/sponsor
  • Military personnel also complete the additional form giving details of their job . Please click here for form.
  • Computer generated flight itinerary from the travel agent or copy of roundtrip airline ticket

BUSINESSVISA

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable
  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. The application form must have original signature.
  • Copy of recent bank statement for proof of funds
  • Additional Form for Business visa is required
  • Four (4) Passport Type Photographs with clear or white background
  • An invitation from the host organization in Pakistan is required

NOTE:

  • The Embassy of Pakistan advises that the Visa for employees/associates of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO); humanitarian; missionary organizations, may be delayed several weeks. An invitation from the host organization in Pakistan should also be provided.
  • Visa Processing time varies. For truly business or commercial purposes  – allow between 4 to 6 weeks.  For visiting family members or strictly tourist – allow up to 6 to 8 weeks.  For applicants who works for a religious organization here in the USA, processing time may take 3 to 4 months.  All visa application type requires approval from the Pakistani Government.
  • Applicants may be asked by the embassy or consulate to appear for an interview, if necessary.
