Turkmenistan – Passport and Visa Required

Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

TOURIST VISA

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable
  • One Visa Application Forms completed and signed. The application forms must have original signature.
  • One Passport Type Photograph (glue the photo on the visa application form – do NOT staple)
  • Copy of flight itinerary
  • If the applicant is traveling as a tourist and will not be meeting anyone in Turkmenistan they must contact any travel agency in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Tourism (tel: 99312-35-47-77 fax: 99312-39-67-40) which will assist in planning the visit and will provide the letter, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • If the applicant is visiting a relative or friend they must submit a letter of invitation certified by the State Foreign Citizens Registration Service of Turkmenistan. The invitation is valid only for 3 months from the date it was confirmed.

BUSINESS VISA

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable
  • One Visa Application Forms completed and signed. The application forms must have original signature.
  • Once Passport Type Photograph (glue the photo on the visa application form – do NOT staple)
  • Copy of flight itinerary
  • Letter of invitation on letterhead from a host company or organization in Turkmenistan to be visited, certified by the State Foregn Citizens Registration Service of Turkmenistan. The   Invitation is valid only for 3 months from the date it was confirmed.
